Hi from Jerusalem. I had a wonderful Sunday service at the oldest church in the Middle East (full house). A special time of praise music, Bible reading, a message on the “Widow’s Mite,” and a traditional communion service. Then off lunch with a new friend, Sharon (she works with Family Research Council “FRC” and helped me connect with the tour group while they were here in Jerusalem). We went to a rooftop restaurant at the Notre Dame Hotel (for Catholic pilgrims). It has the best view of the Old and New parts of Jerusalem. Then I went to see the exhibit of the Shroud of Turon (exact copy) and great info. A wonderful time of remembering what Jesus did for us and how much it cost Him. The off the the Church were His tomb and Galgotha are located. Again, a time of remembering. Also, between Galgotha and the tomb there is a two foot high stone disk which marks the half way point between the two. This is called the Center of the Christian world. Israel being the center of the world, Jerusalem the center of Israel, and the disk our center. Then back to the Old Church for a service of music and a speaker from Holland (had to be tranlated) who is a Christian psycho-therapist. The jest of his message, “you need to forgive if you are ever to get rid of your shame.” I found out a couple days ago that where I am staying, sleeping, eating, and walking at Christ Church is right where King Herod’s palace gardens were located. They even have a cistern on the grounds that actually watered Herod’s plants (Divine appt even for where I am staying). Please pray that my phone begins working again so that I can call mom. Blessings, D
A wonderfully worshipful Sunday.
